  • Rather than focusing on credentials, our ‘Alternative CV’ helps individuals identify, showcase and target their natural talents, character strengths, and personality profile.


  •  It gives individuals without traditional academic qualifications and work experience the opportunity to compete for employment and apprenticeship opportunities alongside their peers.  

  

  • It offers employers and apprenticeship scheme leaders a scientifically-backed view of the qualities and abilities an individual brings to a role, and an opportunity to recruit with confidence knowing their choice will be mutually successful. 


  • Our ‘Alternative CV’ can be used as a standalone CV or to boost and enrich an existing CV. 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

OUR 'ALTERNATIVE CV' PROGRAMME COMBINES AN ONLINE COURSE AND WEB APPLICATION

  • It guides users through three online assessments, which have been chosen specifically because of their research rigour and scientific credibility. 


  • A series of easy-to-understand, motivational instructional videos take users step-by-step through the assessments and show them how to record their results. 


  • As part of the process, the users review their own assessment results and select the elements they identify with most.  


  • This makes their CV totally unique. There are millions of possible variations. No two CVs are the same. 


WHAT DOES IT DELIVER?

A totally unique Alternative CV

 

  • On completion of the programme, the results generate a downloadable, two-page 'Alternative CV' that is unique to each individual.  It is designed to stand out from the crowd to give candidates an advantage in the shortlisting process.


  • The 'Alternative CV' showcases an individual’s personality, talents, character strengths, and potential to employers, recruiters and apprenticeship leaders. 


An intelligent steer towards meaningful work

 

  •  In addition, we include a downloadable Career Insights Guide  that provides personalised suggestions of the types of jobs and working environments that might best suit the user, based on their unique data.


  • The Career Insights Guide shows individuals how they might utilise their inherent talents and character strengths to achieve sustained employment in roles they find meaningful and fulfilling.

  •  A bonus worksheet is also included, as is an editable cover letter, elements designed to encourage personal responsibility and engagement with job-hunting. 

Who DOES IT benefit?

PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE TRADITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE

Not everyone has a CV bursting with impressive credentials.  52% of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds leave school without any qualifications at all.  Our Alternative CV gives people without credentials something incredible to shout about!  We supplement credentials for character strengths and talents to ensure employers know exactly what skills and attributes a person brings to the table!

PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY WANT TO DO FOR A CAREER

Approximately 788,000 young people are not in education, employment or training (NEET) in the UK.   62,000 returning citizens leave prison each year without a job to go to.  Finding a career that inspires you is not easy, especially for those who are vulnerable to low-pay-in-work poverty.  Our Alternative CV is designed to guide individuals to a career that will maximise and cultivate their natural character strengths and talents - thus improving the likelihood of them staying in, and enjoying their career.

PEOPLE WITH EMPLOYMENT GAPS OR RETURNING CITIZENS

There are approximately 140,000 prison admissions every year in the UK.  Some 230,000 students aged 18-35 take a gap year each year.  There are plenty of reasons why a traditional CV may have gaps in work experience.  When this becomes problematic, sending an Alternative CV could help distract employers from focusing on the gaps, by instead focusing on what skills and strengths a person has to offer.

120,000 veterans are unemployed and working-age veterans are nearly twice as likely to be unemployed as their equivalents in the UK general population.   • It measures improvements in the user’s ability to identify and articulate their talents; their self-belief in their talents and employability; their understanding of jobs best suited to their talents; their confidence in a secure and hopeful future; and their motivation to discuss future work prospects and take action.


  • Individual or group graphic representations of the data can be downloaded and shared with stakeholders to demonstrate the impact and efficacy of the programme.
