Jeremy loves to look back. He looks back because that is where he believes the answers lie. He looks back to understand the present.
From Jeremy's vantage point the present is, taken in isolation, unstable, a confusing clamour of competing voices. It is only by reviewing earlier times and events, returning to a time when the plans were being formulated, that Jeremy feels comfortable with his understanding of why things are as they are, how they came to be and in doing so regain a sense of context and stability.
In his view, the earlier time was a simpler time. It was a time of blueprints. As Jeremy looks back, he begins to see how blueprints emerge. He understands what the initial intentions were, the relationships and obstacles that had to be navigated and the consequences that were considered. This understanding brings him confidence. No longer disoriented, he makes better decisions because he senses the underlying structure.
Jeremy is a fabulous work colleague and partner because he understands how his colleagues came to be who they are. And counter-intuitively he is wiser about the future because he has seen how its seeds were sown in the past.

Jeremy takes psychological ownership for anything he commits to, whether large or small, and feels emotionally bound to follow it through to completion. He values his good name and reputation and believes trust depends on taking responsibility for his actions and decisions. For the same reason, if Jeremy concludes that he cannot deliver on a promise, he will automatically start to look for ways to make it up to the other person.
Apologies are not enough. Excuses and rationalisations are totally unacceptable to Jeremy. He will not be satisfied until he has made restitution. This conscientiousness, this near obsession for doing things right, and his impeccable ethics, combine to create his reputation, a reputation of being utterly dependable.

Jeremy sets incredibly high standards for himself. His is driven by the constant need for achievement. He starts every day at zero and aims to fill it with tangible achievements and personal goals that make him feel accomplished. And by "every day" he means every single day - workdays, weekends and holidays! Rest does not come easily to Jeremy, for a rare moment of nothingness could prevent him from achieving yet another personal target. He has a fire burning inside him, pushing him to do more, be more, achieve more. The fire might dwindle intermittently, but it very soon reignites with renewed energy, forcing Jeremy to embark afresh, sights set on the next challenge and the next great accomplishment.
Achievement brings Jeremy the energy he needs to work long hours without burning out. It is the jolt he can always count on to get him started on new tasks, new opportunities and new endeavours. It is the power supply that causes Jeremy to set the pace and define his levels of productivity. It is a strength that keeps him moving - always moving.

Excellence, not average, is Jeremy's measure. Taking something from below average to slightly above average takes a great deal of effort and in Jeremy's opinion is not very rewarding, whereas transforming something strong into something superb takes just as much effort but is much more thrilling.
Strengths, whether his or those of someone else, fascinate Jeremy. Like a diver seeking pearls, he searches them out, watching for the tell-tale signs of a strength. A glimpse of untutored excellence, rapid learning, a skill mastered without recourse to steps are all clues that a strength may be in play. And having found a strength, Jeremy feels compelled to nurture it, refine it, and stretch it toward excellence. He polishes the pearl until it shines.
Jeremy likes to spend time with people who appreciate and focus on strengths. He is attracted to, and inspired by, others who seem to have found and cultivated their own strengths. He does not see the point in wasting time bemoaning what he lacks. Rather, he spends time maximising and capitalising on the gifts and strengths he has been blessed with.
