Chris lives in the moment - not seeing the future as a fixed destination. Instead, he believes his future is created by a series of choices that he makes right now. One good decision at a time. This does not mean that Chris is reluctant to make plans - quite the contrary, but his adaptability enables him to respond willingly to the demands of the moment even if they pull him away from his plans. Unlike some, Chris does not resent sudden distractions or unforeseen detours. He expects them. They are an inevitable part of life. At heart, Chris is a very flexible person who maintains productivity when the demands of work pull him in many different directions at once.

Chris has an uncanny ability to sort through the 'clutter of life' to find the best route forward. He has a natural gift of a 'bird's eye view' which enables him to oversee complex scenarios from a 'bigger picture' standpoint - a skill that cannot be taught. 


Chris has a distinct way of thinking; a special perspective on the world at large. This perspective allows him to see patterns where others simply see complexity. Mindful of these patterns, Chris is able to consider alternative scenarios and ask questions that help him see around the next corner. He is an avid collector of facts.  His curiosity extends to information, words, data, books, and quotations - anything interesting that feeds his thirst for knowledge.   Chris is constantly amazed by the world and its infinite variety and complexity. His mind always scans actively for new information that he finds intriguing, exciting or theoretical.  


Chris reads for enjoyment and has a wealth of knowledge stored in the archives of his brain - ready to be pulled to the fore when he needs it or it becomes useful. Balance is important to Chris. He is keenly aware of the need to treat people the same, no matter what their station in life.   

Chris does not like to see the scales tipped too far in any one person's favour. In his view this leads to selfishness, individualism and a world where some people gain an unfair advantage due to their connections, background or greasing of wheels.  In direct contrast to a world of special favours, Chris believes that people function best in a consistent environment where fairness is applied to everyone equally.  He is an passionate champion of fair justice and believes every individual should be afforded the opportunity to be judged on their own merit and true worth.

Chris takes psychological ownership for anything he commits to, whether large or small, and feels emotionally bound to follow it through to completion. He values his good name and reputation and believes trust depends on taking responsibility for his actions and decisions. For the same reason, if Chris concludes that he cannot deliver on a promise, he will automatically start to look for ways to make it up to the other person. Apologies are not enough. Excuses and rationalisations are totally unacceptable to Chris. He will not be satisfied until he has made restitution. This conscientiousness, this near obsession for doing things right, and his impeccable ethics, combine to create his reputation: utterly dependable.

Chris is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.  He is currently a Business Finance Specialist working with Businesses, Community Interest Companies and Charities across Cornwall to develop and grow their activities to achieve sustainability and maximum productivity.  


He is a qualified strategic leader with over 12 years’ experience at a senior management level (CEO) within the charity sector.   Chris was invited to represent the national charity and community sector at the Windsor Leadership Program (invite only) and has a 1st Class BA Honours Degree in Professional Development, a Foundation Degree in Human Resources and a Prince 2 Project Management Qualification.   


Chris trained as an accountant and worked in the financial industry in London and Birmingham before returning to the Southwest where he became the proprietor of his own businesses.  A significant life event forced Chris to re-evaluate his life and his career and he now uses his experience and skills to help others achieve success. 

CHRIS'S PASSIONS

 

Chris is family guy who loves nothing more than spending valuable time with his two children, wife and family dog. 


In 2015, Chris and his family travelled the world for two years starting in a motorhome in France and ending in the jungle of Nicaragua.  This experience changed his life and travel is now a very important part of his future.  


When he finds a rare moment to himself, Chris likes to cycle, read, watch rugby and work out.  He also has a love of history, good whisky and the ocean.
